John Obar 1966 Chevelle SS

This could be the rustiest car we have ever built. It is now taking shape into the baddest Chevelle we have ever built in our Minnesota hot rod shop. Check it out.

We actually started with two 1966 Chevelles on this project. The first car was so rusty in the roof area we found a donor car for the roof panel and inner structure. We also mini-tubbed this car and used the stock frame, just narrowed it and brought the trailing arms in on the rear end. We then widened the wheel wells in the trunk and narrowed the trunk floor accordingly. In the end the car looks very original but runs 335 rear tires. This car is now in the body shop getting painted. John plans to run a 632 big block in this bad boy.
